UPCOMING & FUTURE CAMPAIGNS
Readers Arise
Readers Arise is a national literacy and civic enlightenment movement aimed at rebuilding Nigeria’s reading culture, starting with primary school children, while nurturing future citizens who are informed, confident, and socially responsible.
More than a one off reading competition, Readers Arise is a structured, teacher led, and community supported reading ecosystem that makes reading a daily habit and a shared responsibility.
Central to the initiative is a Structured Reading and Assessment Framework that transforms reading into a guided, monitored, and inspiring journey. It ensures children read consistently, comprehend effectively, and grow in confidence, regardless of their background or starting literacy level.
Books Build Nations
The National Literacy Empowerment Library Project is a national literacy movement advancing access to knowledge through community libraries and policy reform. In partnership with the FCT Area Council Services Secretariat, the initiative has secured 17 library spaces across the 17 Chiefdoms of the FCT, creating hubs for learning, civic growth, and community transformation in indigenous and underserved communities. Building on this foundation, Books Build Nations is leading the National Literacy Empowerment Library Bill to institutionalize literacy as a national development priority, proposing one well-equipped 360 sqm library in each of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas—because libraries are equalizers, tools for self-education, and gateways to a brighter future for every child.
Legacy Education Concert
The Legacy Education Concert is more than just an event it is a movement to shine a spotlight on the challenges facing Africa’s educational system and to inspire actionable solutions. By bringing together educators, artists, philanthropists, and young leaders, the concert seeks to foster a culture of learning and empowerment, ensuring that education becomes a priority for every community.
The concert directly supports the Give a Child a Book campaign, distributing books to underprivileged children and teens, and creating opportunities for students who cannot afford schooling through scholarships both within Nigeria and internationally. Beyond book donations, the event also promotes the development of new libraries and the enhancement of existing ones, ensuring children and communities have safe, accessible spaces to learn, read, and grow.
Ultimately, the Legacy Education Concert is a platform for action: to combat illiteracy, reduce poverty, and equip Africa’s youth with the knowledge and tools they need to build a brighter future. By engaging communities and stakeholders, the concert leaves a lasting impact—one book, one library, and one scholarship at a time.
Scholarship Fund Project
The Scholarship Fund Project aims to provide educational opportunities to over 1,000 underprivileged students in the coming year, supporting them from primary school through university at any institution where they are admitted.
We also offer scholarships to students who gain admission to schools both in Nigeria and abroad but cannot afford tuition, ensuring financial barriers do not limit their potential.
To date, the program has supported 12 students studying internationally and 53 students within Nigeria. These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of our fundraising initiatives, supporters, and sponsors, empowering young minds to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.
Fund Library Campaign
The Fund Library Campaign recognizes the library as a symbol of knowledge and a cornerstone of education. Libraries are the storehouses of learning and serve as vital resources for every institution and community.
Our campaign focuses on transforming the library system in Nigeria enhancing existing libraries to meet modern educational demands and developing new, state of the art library structures across the country. By improving access to knowledge, we empower individuals to reach their full potential, harness creativity, and contribute meaningfully to society.
CAMPAIGN HISTORY & IMPACT
Give A Child A Book
People’s Dream Initiative – Give a Child a Book is a national literacy campaign dedicated to reducing illiteracy by placing books directly into the hands of underprivileged children and teens living in poverty. We believe one of the greatest gifts we can give the next generation is a strong reading culture that empowers them to learn, lead, and transform their communities.
The Give a Child a Book Fair brings together children from marginalized communities to receive free books distributed to schools and students. The program features engaging activities, games, and reading competitions designed to inspire a love for reading and lifelong learning.
Through partnerships with local communities, schools, libraries, NGOs, and charity organizations, the campaign will reach underserved areas across Nigeria. Our long-term goal is to donate 1 million books to deprived children over the next 10 years, helping to build a more literate, informed, and empowered society.
Where the Mission Began — Mafoluku Community, Lagos (2023)
The People’s Dream Initiative Give a Child a Book campaign began in 2023 in the Mafoluku community, Lagos, with a bold vision to empower children in marginalized communities through reading and writing.
The journey culminated in a landmark Children’s Day event on May 27, 2023, at Beesam Open Field, where, in partnership with Books2Africa, Real Dreams Enterprise, and Eagles Wings Aerospace Ltd., thousands of textbooks in English, mathematics, science, arts, and commerce were distributed to schools, orphanages, and underserved children.
More than a book donation drive, Give a Child a Book is a growing movement for equal access to education and self development, ensuring every child regardless of background has the opportunity to learn, dream, and reach their full potential.
Ogba Community, Lagos State
Through a strategic partnership with the LankyKwame Bruce Foundation, the Give a Child a Book campaign made a significant impact at the Ogba community, Lagos State, during a community garage giveaway event. Boys Juvenile Home, Yaba

To support their development, 1,000 books were donated to strengthen cognitive growth and encourage a lifelong love for learning. This outreach reaffirmed our commitment to empowering every child, regardless of their circumstances.
Obudu/Ogoja Community, Cross River State
In tribute to our founder’s late grandmother, the Give a Child a Book campaign returned to Obudu to honor her memory through meaningful community service. We visited 8 schools and the wider community, donating over 15,000 textbooks in art, science, commerce, and English, empowering children through self-education.
This visit also marked the launch of two key initiatives: mini libraries to improve access to knowledge, and a scholarship fund to support children in underprivileged communities.
